How to Order

You can place your orders with SCI in three easy ways:

SCI Sales personnel are available from 7am - 5pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday to enter your order or answer any questions you may have. We value receiving and sending information in a timely manner, so messages or e-mails left after hours will be promptly answered the following business day.

In order to better serve our customers, building a network of trusted, informed, and trained partners is one of our primary goals.  Because of this, Switch Components Inc. is only able to sell through its extensive network of authorized distributors.

Switch Components Inc. has an extensive inventory of the most popular switches and switch accessory items at our warehouse in California. If we have the item you are looking for in-stock at our facility, that item can be ordered through your local distributor and dropped shipped to you at no additional cost to you the following day (however you are still responsible for paying any expedited freight charges). 

There is also the possibility that your item might be readily available at another distributor.

Product sample

We would be happy to send you a sample of any product you are considering purchasing at no cost to you. If you are located outside of North America, we only ask that you please pay the cost of freight to your specific location.

We have tried to make our switch selection as easy as possible, while still providing a great deal of information about the individual part number.

Our products part numbers are created based on the codes you can see on the table shown below.  The criteria incudes:

  • Series – Primarily based on the type, shape, and/or the color of the actuator
  • Number of poles – Single Pole (SP) or a Double Pole (DP)
  • Position– Switch Action. Single or Double throw, Maintained or (Momentary) action
  • DC Voltage Rating – All of the switches currently offered by SCI are DC rated (please contact us for AC rated switches)
  • Terminal Type
  • Actuator – Type and color of button/lever/actuator has the switch. Illumination type / color
  • Actuator Printing

 

We make doing business with us extremely easy by eliminating the road blocks that other manufacturers artificially create.  Every Switch Components Inc. authorized distributor has unconditional access our entire product line in stock with no minimum orders and no service charges for small orders, enabling you to order only what you need.

Stocking Package

We make doing business with us extremely easy by eliminating the road blocks that other manufacturers artificially create to limit access to their products. Because of this, Switch Components Inc. does not require any of its authorized distributors to purchase or maintain a minimum inventory of SCI products to establish or remain an authorized SCI distributor.

However, it should be noted that SCI does recommend that all authorized distributors maintain a sufficient level of local inventory to properly service your customer base.  Failure to keep the proper inventory may result in long-leads times and the possibility of losing your customers to another distributor who has the items in-stock.

Pricing Information

An electronic price guide for most of SCI’s standard items is available to all authorized distributors.  Pricing is determined by the part number and number of parts to be purchased. Certain “blanket” or scheduled orders can be accepted to help reduce the piece price.

Payment Terms

SCI’s standard payment terms to its authorized distributors are “net 30 days” from the time of shipment upon approved credit. Credit approval of new accounts can take up to 10 business-days. Payment is accepted in U.S. dollars only.

Visa, MasterCard and American Express payments are also accepted (through PayPal). No charges will be made to your credit card until the product has been shipped.

Credit Card Payment

Yes. Visa, MasterCard” and American Express payments are accepted (through PayPal). No charges will be made to your credit card until the product has been shipped.

The standard INCO terms of SCI are “FOB – shipping point” with the customer responsible for their own shipping costs from the SCI warehouse in California. Typically, we can arrange shipments of our products by most common carriers, as specified by our customers.  This includes UPS, FedEx, DHL or most over-the-road trucking companies.

Many customers prefer to use their own shipping account, however it is also possible to use Switch Component’s UPS or FedEx account with the actual freight charges added to your invoice (no service charges will be added).

Same-day shipments are generally available on most in-stock products if orders are received by SCI before 2pm – Pacific Time.

Orders for in-stock items will normally ship the same day or next day. Priority shipments of in-stock items must be received by 2pm Pacific Time to insure same-day shipping. 

You will receive an email confirmation when your order ships. If your order was shipped by UPS or FedEx, a tracking number will be included on the shipping confirmation allowing you to electronically track your shipment via the shipper’s website or app.

Return Policy

We are committed to provide you with the best service possible. Switch Components Inc. offers a 15-day (from the date of shipment) refund, replacement or credit policy on all new, unused and undamaged products. Returns due to confirmed product defects, workmanship or shipping errors may be returned up to 60-days from the time of shipment and is not subject to return-freight policy below.

Special orders (including blanket orders and large-quantity order) may be non-cancellable and/or non-returnable. Products and quantities, subject to this limitation, will always be identified at the time of ordering.

Please note that the purchaser shall bear the cost of shipping on products returned and that any item delivered via trucking cannot be refused or returned for credit once in transit.

All returns must be pre-approved by applying for a Return Materials Authorization (RMA).

Return Materials Authorization

All returns must be pre-approved by applying for a Return Materials Authorization (RMA). Please contact our sales representatives at (619) 749-3250 or email sales@switchcomp.com and they will walk you through the RMA form that you need to fill providing the order information and a description of the issue. 

Once your request has been received, you will be contacted within 2-3 business days with a Return Materials Authorization Number and instructions for sending back the items. Returned items without an RMA will not be accepted and will be returned to sender.

Return freight charge must be prepaid. C.O.D. returns cannot be accepted.

Switch Components Inc. warrants that its products will conform with all pertinent specifications and will be free from defects caused by faulty materials and workmanship.

There are several additional important terms and conditions to the above SCI product warranty. Please visit Switch Components Inc.'s Terms and Conditions of Sale to locate and read the complete warranty policy. 

The applicable warranty period for all products is the 60-day period after shipment from SCI. At no time is SCI responsible for goods damaged or lost in transit (if this occurs, you should file a claim with your carrier).

California Proposition 65

Proposition 65 is a State of California regulatory law which requires businesses and individuals, who sell products in the State of California, to provide warnings to people when significant amounts of toxic chemical compounds and elements are present in their products. 

The State of California has identified specific chemical compounds and elements that may cause cancer, birth defects and/or reproductive harm.  A complete list of these chemical compounds and elements, as well as the maximum levels of exposure, can be found at https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov.

All products sold by Switch Components Inc. comply with current Prop 65 requirements by adding the appropriate warning labels to inner and outer carton packaging when mandated.

We currently employ an automated production line which helps to maintain high levels of consistency and quality as well as providing a platform for continuous cost-reduction. The automated equipment includes machinery such as continuous table presses, robotic plastic injection and insertion molding, CNC machining, laser marking, and vision inspection equipment.

Our production facilities in Guangdong, China and Semarang, Indonesia have been certified to meet ISO 9001:2002 / 14000:2004 and TS16949:2002 levels of quality assurance.

All of our DC switches are manufactured to meet rigorous SAE standards and employs.
